The TIC annual "all nighter" was the weekend before Christmas... 9pm-7:30am

60+ junior highers + sugar & pizza + no sleep = one interesting night!

Best memory from when I was in youth group: I grew up in a really small (and old) church so I only had a few youth group events. The cool thing was that my mom led them, and that she was always intentional about finding ways to help me grow closer to Jesus throughout my teen years. She was a great youth pastor to me.

Power Connection & Work Camp

Work Camp- July 27-31
"Do no conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" -Romans 12:1
The students were put into work groups to go out into the community. Students did things from sorting clothes, to physical outdoor labor. The students learned about being "one body" in Christ, and doing His work.

We don't worry about where we have to sleep at night or where we will be sleeping tomorrow and other people do. God puts people in other peoples lives for a reason." - Morgan Van Maanen

Power Connection 2009- Kansas City21 students went with New Life to Work Camp and to Power Connection. This years theme was FAITHBOOK. Speakers encouraged students to think about what their "status" would be. Jesus' status would be that "He loves you!" Unlike facebook, with FAITHbook, you should never be concernced about privacy, but you should always allow others to see who you are.

For our 8th grader's, it is time for "the new to come" as they move onto high school. For all of us, the "old is gone" for over the past 9 months we have all grown in some way or another.
This past wednesday night was our final TIC for the year.

God is so good! As sponsors it was our prayer that a seed for the Lord would be planted in each heart over the course of the year. We have seen some seeds sprout, some are still under the ground, but continueing to grow. Now it's God's turn to water that seed... and for us to continue to support them in their walk, and pray for them.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!
We loaded on the church bus and headed south to the Ice Cream Capital of the World (we decided that was a self-proclaimed title) to enjoy a night of fun and ice cream! It was such a beautiful night we could even sit outside.

TIC - April 8

After a game of "flag basketball", students shared about all the different things that they did at the TIC retreat at Okoboji the weekend before. The theme for the retreat was "I AM", looking at the characteristics of Christ.

We split into groups and wrote all of the words/phrases (even some pictures) that describe God.

Some of the highlights of the Okoboji Retreat included:
-Singing praise songs with other junior high students
-Watching Joel preform "the flip" at the talent show
-Learning new forms of "worship" and that worship can be anything you do to give God glory and praise.
-Staying awake all night:)
-Having Noah Fedders drive the bus!
- Small groups with other kids from other churches
-Spending time with friends playing basketball
